Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Across India, it is a day filled with warmth, love, and tradition. But in the political circles of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, this year’s festival had its own twist.

In Andhra Pradesh, former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was noticeably absent from his sister YS Sharmila’s celebrations. Political differences between the two have been evident for months, and this year, they even kept their personal meeting aside on such a special occasion.

Similarly, in Telangana, IT Minister K T Rama Rao could not join his sister K Kavitha for Raksha Bandhan. While the official reason was a busy schedule, insiders believe political priorities and recent developments played a role in their missed meeting.

Both instances show how political life can sometimes overshadow personal traditions. For many, this was a reminder that even family bonds in politics can be tested by differences, schedules, and public responsibilities.
