A major twist has emerged in the fake liquor racket that has rocked Andhra Pradesh for the past few days. Janardhan Rao, the prime accused in the case, reportedly gave a statement to the police revealing explosive details. He alleged that former minister and senior YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh had instructed them to produce fake liquor and even guided them on where and how to operate.

According to the statement, the accused initially stopped their illegal business after the new NDA government came to power, as liquor prices were reduced and strict surveillance was introduced. However, Jogi Ramesh allegedly called him in April and pushed him to restart production, even offering financial support. The accused claimed that they soon began manufacturing near Ibrahimpatnam, close to Vijayawada.

Janardhan Rao further stated that Jogi Ramesh advised them to start distribution from Tamballapalli in Chittoor district, suggesting it would politically damage TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu since it is his home turf. However, before they could execute the plan, the police caught them. He added that some YSRCP leaders had also received a share from the operations earlier. Police are now investigating Jogi Ramesh’s alleged role in the racket.
