The NDA alliance has delivered another strong performance in the recent assembly elections across India, and the same pattern repeated in Bihar. With the results now clear, the big question is who will be the next Chief Minister of the state.
Logically, Janata Dal United president Nitish Kumar is the frontrunner. He has already served nine terms as Bihar Chief Minister, and he is widely expected to take charge for the tenth time.
However, one interesting point is the seat count. The BJP won 89 seats, which is slightly higher than the 85 seats secured by the JDU. Despite this numerical advantage, political observers say the internal dynamics of the NDA are clear.
Nitish Kumar remains the most experienced and seasoned leader in Bihar politics. Discussions within the NDA have reportedly concluded in his favour, and he is set to return as Chief Minister once again.
As for the cabinet formation, the distribution will likely follow the numbers. The BJP is expected to get one cabinet berth more than the JDU, based on their seat share.
The full government formation is expected on November 20, where we may witness history as Nitish Kumar becomes Chief Minister for the 10th time.
