In a surprising move, the YSRCP high command has suspended two of its key leaders from Hindupur—Naveen Nischal and Konduru Venugopal Reddy. The decision comes after internal clashes surfaced during the recent YS Jayanti celebrations, where Naveen Nischal reportedly announced that he would be contesting in the next elections. This did not sit well with Deepika, the current constituency in-charge, who is said to have complained to the leadership. The result: both Naveen and his supporter Venugopal Reddy were suspended, sending a clear message from Deepika’s faction within the party.

Hindupur has always been a stronghold for the Telugu Desam Party. In fact, the party has never lost from this constituency since its formation. Actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, who has been winning from here for the last three consecutive terms, continues to enjoy solid public support.

While YCP is facing internal fights and leadership confusion, Balakrishna is focusing on real development, keeping politics aside. He has taken up several infrastructure and welfare projects in the region, earning the trust of the local people. From roads and sanitation to drinking water and public facilities, his efforts are being appreciated widely.

In contrast, the YCP appears to be struggling not only with TDP’s dominance but also with lack of unity. In the last election, YCP gave the ticket to Deepika, but failed to make a mark. Now, with public disagreements and suspensions, the party’s position in Hindupur looks even more unstable.

As it stands, TDP looks strong and united, while YCP is battling internal rifts, making the road ahead even tougher for the opposition in Hindupur.
