It is a fact that Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister and the President of Janasena party Pawan Kalyan is the most followed Telugu politician on social media. But at the same time, he is also one of the most targeted politicians by opposition camp.

Almost every day, there are hundreds, or even thousands of posts against Kalyan and several of them have offensive and propagative content.

It appears that Kalyan is fully aware of the situation as he proposed the idea of introducing the social media bill while discussing with his party legislative members earlier in the day.

This interaction with the legislative members, Kalyan pointed out that certain social media posts in connection with AP politics have been crossing the line, and even women are being targeted through the same. He called for certain restrictions on the social media hate by producing the new social media bill in the Assembly.

This social media bill was earlier discussed by chief minister Chandrababu as well, but it did not necessarily make it to the Assembly house. With the deputy CM prompting the same now, it has to be seen if there would be any substantial progress in this.

The deputy CM further pointed out that there is a lot of misleading activity and also fake propaganda that is being run on social media, which also needs to be controlled.

It is good to say that deputy CM being so aware of the fake propaganda that is being run against the government. But the crucial thing here is going to be to take reciprocal action on this matter or the government and the alliance parties will be hit heavily by the same.
