It wasn’t long before the then president of Andhra Pradesh, BJP wing Somu Veerraju who was a soft supporter of YS Jagan was calling the shots. But certain changes were made to the leadership and Purandeswari was appointed as the AP president post, which BJP formed an alliance with TDP and became a part of historic NDA government.

However, Veerraju still carries the image of being a soft sympathiser of Jagan, despite his strip down of position. To make it more interesting, he was even appointed as an MLC by the NDA government recently, post which there were few changes in his stance. He has also started to appreciate Chandra Babu while categorically exposing Jagan.

Coming to the topic now, there was this one particular incident that happened at the conclave that was attended by TDP, BJP and Janasena yesterday, which grabbed the attention.

Incidentally, the top chairs were given to Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan and other BJP bigwigs. This was when Chandrababu noticed that Somu was sitting in front of him parallel to the podium. The chief minister then prompted Somu to come on stage and give him a respectable position on the podium.

Somu earlier had attacked Babu multiple times. It could have been far easier for Babu to hold this in mind and naturally ignore Somu. But that simply is not the character of Babu, as he wanted the BJP senior to be equally appreciated. He is following the alliance norms to respect BJP veterans, which is perhaps a natural trait that makes him a respectable leader.
