It’s a known fact that the TDP considers its cadre as its backbone. Whether in power or in opposition, TDP’s stand remains the same – cadre come first.
Unlike many parties that rely on cadre only during elections, TDP continues to support and value its cadre all the time. A recent decision by the party proves this once again. TDP leadership has decided that the first invitation for the upcoming “Mahanadu” party event in Kadapa will be given to the family of Thota Chandrayya – a loyal TDP Karyakartha who lost his life for the party.
Thota Chandrayya, from Gundlapadu village in Palnadu district, was brutally murdered in broad daylight by YSRCP leaders. Even in his final moments, he reportedly shouted “Jai Telugudesam”, “Jai Chandrababu.” The incident created a huge political stir in January 2022. TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu personally visited the family and even carried Chandrayya’s body during the funeral – showing how deeply the party respects its workers.
Now, with the annual Mahanadu fast approaching and scheduled in Kadapa – Jagan’s home district – the TDP has decided to honour Chandrayya’s sacrifice. The very first invitation for the event will go to his family. And this invitation won’t be sent through a local leader – instead, Minister Nara Lokesh himself will visit Gundlapadu to deliver it. Lokesh firmly said it’s his responsibility as the party’s representative for workers’ welfare.
Palnadu region, known for faction politics, has been a tough area for TDP, especially with YSRCP’s dominance. Yet, due to strong and loyal workers like Chandrayya, the party made a comeback in Macharla. His sacrifice has become a symbol of dedication for the party.
Now, under the TDP-led government, the murder case has been handed over to the CID for proper investigation.
