Chandrababu Naidu is once again targeted by Telangana’s BRS. Harish Rao threw a challenge to Chandrababu to prove his “love” for Telangana state. As TDP is part of NDA and Chandrababu is playing a crucial role at the Centre, Harish Rao demanded Chandrababu to get fair share for Telangana state from the Centre.
“If you genuinely have love for Telangana, get approvals from the Centre for the irrigation projects Sammakka Sarakka, Wardha, Seethamma Sagar and Kaleswaram’s third project,” Harish Rao asked. He said if Naidu gets these approvals then we will accept that he has love for Telangana too and then his ideology of “two eyes” is accepted.
Harish accused Chandrababu of not doing anything to Telangana. He asked AP to permit Telangana to utilise 969 TMCs of water in Godavari that was allocated earlier.
While Harish Rao’s comments are not very surprising, what is surprising is the timing. Why to Target Chandrababu once again and that too now when AP is no longer a political issue in Telangana and vice-versa.
Political analysts say that BRS will have double-advantage as they can claim as the only champion of Telangana rights and evoke the T-sentiment once again. On the other hand, eventually, this benefits BRS’s political friend YS Jagan. When Jagan was in rule, BRS hardly raised any of such issues. However, they suddenly changed voices after Chandrababu came to the power in AP and also at the Centre.
