It is an established fact that chicken meat is one of the most consumed non-vegetarian dishes in India. In particular, the Telugu population as the habit of including meat in their staple diet. However, in view of the prevailing bird flu situation and the alarming number of deaths in chicken population, there is a widespread fear amongst the common public.
On this topic, chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu has issued a set of derivatives to the cabinet and the same was delivered by Atchannaidu in front of the media.
“There are 10.78 crore chickens in the state. Only 5 lakh 42 thousand chickens have died due to the virus. There is a false propaganda on social media that 40 lakh chickens have died. We have sent the samples to Bihar for testing and further assessments will be made based on the results” Atchannaidu said.
Apparently, Naidu had further confirmed that chicken meat can be happily consumed by everyone without fear of bird flu spread. The essential point to be noted here is that around 5.4 lakh chickens have died till now, as opposed to the social media narrative that over 40 lakh deaths have occurred.
With the chief minister himself assuring on the topic of bird flu fear amongst the public, the prevailing tense situation could get sorted very soon. Also, the actual number of deaths appear to be nearly insignificant if we look at the overall population.
At a time when the Telangana government issued derivates to the public to avoid chicken meat, AP CM Babu has done the exact opposite. There must surely have been scientific evidence behind this statement from Babu.
