One of the most infamous activities carried out by the previous Jagan government in Andhra Pradesh is the controversial liquor scam. There were several complaints about the contamination of quality liquor, as well as financial mismanagement involving the “cash only” policy that was enforced.

Incidentally, the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh is taking a particularly tough stance against this liquor scam. A full-fledged investigation has been launched by the SIT, and several key individuals have already been arrested in connection with the case.

This topic came up during the Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting held today, where Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu delivered a strong message.

Chandrababu clearly instructed NDA public representatives not to speak publicly about the details of the liquor scam. His clear communication to MLAs and ministers was to refrain from public commentary on the liquor scam and be ‘silent’ on the ongoing arrests.

If we look closely, the previous YCP government representatives used to discuss CBN’s arrest in the fabricated skill scam case on a daily basis. This clearly indicated that the arrest was politically motivated and was used to garner sympathy for Chandrababu.

Currently, the AP liquor scam is being investigated thoroughly. Babu also emphasized that the investigation authorities are impartial and straightforward. Therefore, he urged MLAs to avoid public comments since any statements might give the impression of a political conspiracy.

Babu made it clear that the authorities will investigate and arrest the necessary individuals and pointed out that there is no need for public disclosure of the details.
