It is an established fact that the government employee unions were firmly against the previous Jagan government. But despite all the protests and public outcries, Jagan was rampant against these unions and strategically used certain men to gun down the rioting situation.
One such stoic supporters from the employee union is Bandi Srinivasa Rao who was former president of APNGO Union. He played a decisive role in nullifying and pacifying the employee union protests against Jagan in 2022 and 2023.
Incidentally, this Bandi Srinivasa Rao retired from his duties last year with his tenure coming to an end. And now, he has made his association with Jagan official and public by joining YSR Congress.
Srinivasa Rao had a reputation of being a stoic supporter of Jagan as he used to often praise the YCP boss to the sky to please him. No, he has made his political affiliation, very clear by joining Jagan’s party.
The veteran union worker and former power position holder formally met Jagan in Tadepalli and joined YCP. He was accompanied by former members from other unions and associations including BV Subba Rao, M Vijaya Simha Reddy, Umamaheswara Rao and others.
This could perhaps be considered some sort of respite for YCP as several senior leaders and former MLAs and MPs have been leaving the party in recent times. These new additions of former NGO leader might seem insignificant in the larger picture but YCP will have to make do with the same for the time being.
