Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu is on five-day tour to Singapore with the clear goal of attracting large-scale foreign investments and promoting Brand Andhra Pradesh on a global stage. During the tour, the Chief Minister is scheduled to participate in 29 programs, including one-on-one meetings with business leaders, government officials, industrial visits, and diaspora engagements.
Chandrababu departed from Hyderabad at 11:15 PM on Saturday and arrived in Singapore early Sunday morning at 6:25 AM. He is accompanied by ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharat, Narayana, and senior officials from various departments.
The tour began with a major diaspora event, the Telugu Diaspora from South East Asia, held at the OAV Auditorium. Over 1,500 delegates including Telugu entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand attended the event. Organized by the AP NRT Society, this meeting focused on job creation for AP youth, skill development, boosting exports through NRI networks, and involving global Telugu communities in the state’s development. Chandrababu is also expected to appeal to NRIs to participate in the Zero Poverty Mission (P4 program), encouraging their support for inclusive growth in Andhra Pradesh.
Right from the first hour of landing, Chandrababu began his official engagements by meeting Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule. He later met with representatives from Surbana Jurong, a key urban development firm in Singapore, and held investment discussions with EverSendai Engineering Pvt Ltd Chairman Tan Sri Dato A.K. Nathan. In the evening, he joined a formal dinner hosted at the Indian High Commissioner’s residence.
On the second day, Chandrababu is scheduled to meet Singapore’s Trade and Industry Minister and visit Bidadari Estate to understand sustainable urban planning models. He will also take part in a roundtable on sustainable city development and visit Singapore’s model Sports School. The CM and his team will then head to Tuas Port to study the port-led industrial ecosystem, a model the AP government aims to replicate. Later in the day, the Chief Minister will participate in a business roadshow hosted by the AP-Singapore Business Forum to explore more investment opportunities.
The third day includes key meetings with top Singaporean institutions like AI Singapore, SIA Engineering, Keppel, and GIC. Chandrababu will also attend an IT and FinTech roundtable featuring over ten global companies. He will meet Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. A visit to Jurong Petrochemical Island is also planned to study its development model, followed by a CEO roundtable with top business leaders to discuss infrastructure and port opportunities in AP.
On July 30, the fourth day of the tour, the CM will hold meetings with CapitaLand, Sumitomo Mitsui Bank, and Temasek. He will also meet Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. On July 31, the final day of the tour, he is scheduled to meet with Singapore Home Minister K. Shanmugam and other local representatives. The CM will return to Hyderabad that night.
In total, Chandrababu will take part in 29 key engagements during this five-day trip, including six government meetings, fourteen one-on-one investor sessions, four field visits, three roundtables, and two diaspora and roadshow events. The focus areas include IT, industries, fintech, sports, ports, and urban infrastructure. This visit is expected to open the gateway for international investments into Andhra Pradesh and give a major push to port-based industrial development and job creation in the state.
