After an extremely suffocating fiscal and economic crisis from 2019-24, Andhra Pradesh is finally healing under the NDA government in the leadership of CM Chandrababu Naidu. The positive upswing is being reflected in the case of the all time record high GST collections the state has recorded.
According to the latest fiscal report, the April 2025 GST collections of Andhra Pradesh is the highest since the introduction of GST mechanism in 2017.
In April 2025, net GST collections reached 23,354 crores, marking the highest amount collected since the introduction of GST. This impressive performance not only signifies effective tax administration but also reflects the positive economic momentum in the state.
The steady increase in tax revenue underscores the strength of the state’s financial framework and the success of various initiatives designed to enhance tax compliance and enforcement. More importantly and relevantly, the net GST collections in April 2025 represent the highest revenue since the Andhra Pradesh Goods and Services Tax (APGST) Act was introduced in 2017.
Andhra Pradesh has successfully reversed the downward trend that was exhibited in recent months. The supremely positive upswing that was reported starting from this January was consolidated with the April GST revenues and things are starting to look extremely hopeful under the NDA government.
