It has become a common practice for former chief minister YS Jagan to come on a weekly trip to Andhra Pradesh and hold one public event at a selected destination. But this plan backfired badly last week when Jagan toured Podili constituency.

There was a serious law and order problem at the location due to uncontrolled crowds and lacklustre planning of local YCP cadres. This has alerted the Andhra Pradesh police department, and they are taking adequate measures regarding the upcoming political tours of Jagan.

Incidentally, Jagan is scheduled to tour Sattennapalli Constituency on June 18, and related arrangements are being made. However, Andhra Pradesh Police is communicated that they have rejected the permission for this political tour on security grounds.

According to the statement from the police department, the concerned individuals associated with Jagan have not submitted the full details of this tour and hence there’s a law and order problem here. This isn’t just only about the safety of Jagan, but also the public well-being. So the police department has decided to not take any chances.

The department has further added that they would reconsider the decision if Jagan’s team submits the required documents on time. But considering the reluctance of Jagan and his men, this does not look likely.

Without the permission of the police department, it would be extremely hard for Jagan orchestrated this meeting. It has to be seen how things would shape up now.
