These days, we often see MLAs and MPs rolling around in luxury cars and taking flights even for moderate distance journeys. On top of that, they even get the yearly travel allowances to travel in flights for convenience.

Have there is this one TDP MLA, and also cabinet minister who is firmly staying away from such allowances and he is none other than Nimmala Ramanaidu. This Palakollu MLA is regarded as one of the grounded public representatives and carries a mass image.

Incidentally, AP’s Water Resources minister, Rama Naidu was reportedly on his way to Kuppam for a marriage function yesterday. Usually one would expect him to take a flight to Renigunta, which is the nearest airport to Kuppam.

However, the Senior MLA decided not to exercise this allowance and decided to travel by train to Kuppam, which is a long and physically demanding journey. This might be the economical option but at this age, one would expect Naidu to take a flight which is a more comfortable option but that wasn’t to be.

Speaking on this matter, the minister said he got enough time to work on public policies while he was travelling in the train. He said he was able to effectively use his travel time for the public cause again.

Rarely do we see such sincere and socially conscious public representatives and Rama Naidu is one such rare member on this list. No wonder why the people of Palakollu made him a hattrick MLA. In fact, he won by a big margin, even during the super strong Jagan wave in 2019. Perhaps this grounded and thoughtful approach taken by the MLA is keeping him closer to the masses which is his success mantra.
