One of the most infamous scandals during the previous YS Jagan government in Andhra Pradesh is the massive liquor scam. It is alleged that thousands of crores were laundered from Andhra Pradesh to foreign countries through this high-level operation.
The SIT has already arrested multiple individuals connected to the scam and uncovered several crucial details. In a major revelation, it has now come to light that the luxurious Paramount Hotel in Dubai served as a key location for individuals involved in the operation.
The Paramount Hotel is a 66-storey luxury building with state-of-the-art facilities. Reportedly, key individuals such as Buneti Chanakya, Purushottam Varun Kumar, and others who played significant roles in the scam used to stay in a specific flat on the 58th floor of the building.
Investigators have identified flat number 5801 as the central hub where major operations of the liquor scam were allegedly planned and executed.
It is also reported that Hyderabad-based Shravan Rao, who is accused in the phone tapping case, along with others linked to the liquor scam, frequently gathered at this flat to coordinate activities. This luxury apartment in the heart of Dubai is now believed to be the ground zero of the infamous liquor scam.
Several YSR Congress leaders, including former MLAs and MPs, have also been named in this case, along with many behind-the-scenes operators who allegedly played active roles.
