Ever since the historic 2024 election, YSR Congress has been resorting to escapism and blame-shifting to cover up their debacle. It reached a point where Jagan himself repeatedly blamed the EVMs for his party’s defeat.
This narrative was pushed by YSR Congress’s social media teams, which kept spreading claims that the Election Commission had deleted crucial data from the public domain.
The debate intensified further after Rahul Gandhi held a press conference yesterday, questioning the EC about the so-called fake votes theory. YSR Congress used this as fuel to build its own narrative, leading to several social media posts alleging that the EC had removed data from the public domain.
However, the Andhra Pradesh EC dismissed these claims outright and issued a clear clarification.
“This is fake news. #ECIFactCheck. Anyone can download the Electoral Roll for any of the 36 States/UTs through this link,” the EC stated. They also provided access to the relevant electoral roll data through the given link.
This is not just a direct rebuttal to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, but also to the false narrative built by YSR Congress to mislead the public. The EC has now made the data link publicly available for everyone to verify.
