A government decision can change lives, and the recent DSC recruitment in Andhra Pradesh has proved it once again. Ratna Raju, a daily wage worker from Ambedkar Konasema district, has secured a teacher’s post through the exam, earning 75th rank.

Raju completed his B.Ed. in 2014 and attempted the DSC the same year and again in 2018 but failed both times. With no further notifications during the YCP regime, he was forced to work as a daily wager to support his family. His wife and children also took up odd jobs to make ends meet.

Despite hardships, Raju never gave up on his dream. He continued preparing for the exam in whatever little time he could spare after work. After a gap of seven years, he appeared for the DSC held this year under the NDA government and finally cleared it with flying colors.

He has now been appointed as a school assistant in Social Studies and will soon take charge. His journey from a daily wage worker to a government teacher has drawn appreciation, even from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Stories like Raju’s highlight the impact of the latest DSC recruitment, which has already given hope to thousands of unemployed youth in the state.
