After having undergone severe financial mismanagement and distress for the last five years, Andhra Pradesh is finally recuperating. The new NDA government is working on several financial reforms that are expected to have fruitful results for the state financially and socioeconomically.

In this context, the latest developments are suggesting that Andhra Pradesh is in second position in terms of economic growth index. This is based on the report that was submitted by the GSDP Survey Of Government of India.

This is a significant financial achievement with regard to fiscal stability and overall economic performance of the state.

However, chief Minister Chandrababu is not satisfied with this progress as well. He has made it clear that he wants Andhra Pradesh to be the number one and linked the Hyderabad story to strengthen the cause.

“In my first tenure as CM of AP in the 1990s, I remember Hyderabad started out as second to Bangalore. Today Hyderabad is the No. 1 city in India in all parameters. Today is a fresh challenge and an opportunity, and we will live up to it. No. 2 means we work harder.”

Babu made it clear that Hyderabad was in number two position in terms of Metropolitan cities back in the 90s, when he was the chief minister. This subsequent measures that were taken by Chandrababu resulted in Hyderabad coming to the number one position today.

Babu has stated this example to indicate that he will be following a similar formula for Andhra Pradesh and will take the state to no. 1 position in terms of financial index.
