The revival of the Amaravati Project is officially underway now. The grand relaunch program was held in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, chief minister Chandrababu and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan today.

This isn’t the first time that one such event is being held as a similar one was held in 2015 shortly after TDP came to power in AP and incidentally, Modi became the PM. This is to be categorised as the launch of the Amaravati project.

Cut to today, this is very same capital city is formally relaunched in the presence of the very same Modi, Babu, and Pawan. For those wondering about the difference between the launch, and the subsequent relaunch, here is a detailed story.

“అమరావతి కేవలం ఒక నగరం కాదు, ఒక శక్తి. ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ ను ఆధునిక ప్రదేశ్, అధునాతన ప్రదేశ్ గా మార్చే శక్తి.”• #NarendraModi pic.twitter.com/2uRIYkOVBJ— FilmShlim (@FilmShlimOfficial) May 2, 2025

Back in 2015, when the Amaravati project was formally launched in the hands of Prime Minister Modi, it was more of a courtesy visit for him rather than a fiscal obligation. All he had to do was bring mud and the holy water to place them at the inauguration sight.

There was no political obligation for Modi to contribute to the Amaravati project and the entire responsibility fell on the shoulders of Chandrababu. With lack of adequate support from the centre, things looked bleak.

But cut to the re launch program today, Modi is more applied to be a part of the collective development. The fact that he physically launched development activities amounting to ₹57,000 crore shows the same.

Tune with this, the Modi government is also contributing through the grants from the World Bank and allocations from HUDCO. Things are starting to look very positive this time around.

One crucial factor that is dictating the difference between the two terms is that BJP had surplus power in 2014, so they had no obligation to serve AP’s interests. But this time, TDP chief Chandrababu is the deciding factor at the centre. He is regarded as the kingmaker this time.

So with a considerable amount of grip and power, Chandrababu is able to navigate around. Also, the alliance government is looking a lot more consolidated this time, which will indeed result in the overall progress of the state.
