With the return of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, things are looking extremely positive for the Amaravati capital project. While the stage is being prepared for the relaunch of the Amaravati 2.0 prospect, the state government is getting things done rather quickly with the approval of the central government.
In this context, the latest news pertaining to the development of Amaravati is that the centre has principally green signalled the Amaravati-Hyderabad Greenfield project that stretches across 220 kilometres.
This high speed Expressway between Amravati and Hyderabad is likely to shorten the travel time substantially and will enhance the intercity connectivity as well. This project was completely ignored by the previous YCP government but things are looking promising under the new NDA government.
The central government has approved the construction of the project and has asked for a DPR from the union home Ministry. Once this is done, the tendering and construction will begins subsequently.
Meanwhile, Amaravati is preparing for its 2.0 relaunch project as arrangements are underway to bring prime minister Modi to the event and put this capital city on the global map again.
