While people in Telugu states continue to grieve the unfortunate Kurnool bus fire tragedy that took place last month, another disturbing accident took place in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana on Monday morning. As per preliminary reports, a TGSRTC bus belonging to Tandur depot, which was carrying around 70 passengers on board, rammed into a Tipper lorry travelling in the wrong direction.
Seventeen passengers were killed on spot after the accident took place. Many passengers suffered serious injuries as the truck full of load fell on the bus. Both drivers of RTC bus and lorry were dead due to the head-on collision. Police teams have immediately rushed to the spot and deployed 3 JCBs to eject out passengers who were stuck in the gravel load of the lorry. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
The accident took place on the Chevella Vikarabad route. Eye witnesses revealed that the mishap occured on a curve when the speeding lorry lost control and rammed into the bus. The collision resulted in a loud noise and the nearby villagers rushed to the spot to carry out the rescue operations. The accident resulted in huge traffic jam.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed deep pain over the incident and quickly ordered a detailed probe into the fatal accident. BRS president and former CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao expressed shock and urged the government to extend all possible help to the injured.
