The government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a pretty strong stand against abuses on women, a toxic culture that was propagated by the previous YCP ecosystem. The government is establishing this precedent in a strong manner and the same is understood by the legal treatment that journalist Kommineni Srinivas is getting.

Incidentally, Srinivasa Rao was arrested in Hyderabad yesterday after he mediated a controversial show on Sakshi, where a guest journalist audaciously said Amaravati is loaded with female sex workers.

The latest news is that the Mangalagiri court has sentenced Kommineni Srinivasa Rao for 14 days remand starting from today. He will be kept on remand till the 24th of this month, and could be extended beyond that as well.

This is one of the most assertive measures taken by the Andhra Pradesh Police Department as not often do we see senior journalists facing such legal repercussions.
