The NDA government in Andhra Pradesh has been going particularly aggressive when it comes to implementing the super six program. Chief minister Chandrababu is taking up the imposition of these programmes on top priority, and he is getting things done quickly.
Recently, there was a potentially game changing implementation in this regard as the free RTC travel program for women was brought to implementation. And now, we have another game changing programme that is announced by the Andhra Pradesh government.
The cabinet has approved the Universal Health Policy to provide free treatment up to Rs.25 lakhs to all people in the state. This new policy will work to provide free treatments up to Rs.25 lakhs to each family per year.
As a part of this significantly mass centric program, free medical services will be available in 2,493 network hospitals while relatively, 3,257 treatments will be provided for free.
The best thing about this universal healthcare program is that all citizens in the state are eligible for this, regardless of income. This will essentially mean that every single citizen of Andhra Pradesh will be provided with free healthcare facilities amounting to ₹5 lakh per year.
It needs to be noted that universal healthcare was always a core desire for Chief minister Chandrababu and Deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, and they are bringing this to effect now. This proposition was approved by the cabinet and it is likely to come to effect shortly.
