Chandrababu Naidu gave a strong jolt to Jagan with just one smart political move — in fact, he delivered two shocks at once! Without making noise, Chandrababu silently countered YSRCP’s key narratives and left their leaders speechless.

In the past five years, Jagan used to press buttons and proudly talk about the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) scheme for beneficiaries. Now, without much noise, Naidu has pressed two important buttons that will definitely shake Jagan. With just two decisive moves, Naidu left no job for Jagan to react or agitate on these issues.

The two main issues:

Fishermen Welfare Allowance – Every year, a fishing ban is imposed for two months during the summer season. To compensate for the livelihood loss during this period, the government provides a special welfare allowance to the fishermen.

Pastors’ Honorarium – It is a government scheme that provides monthly financial support (₹5,000) to eligible Christian pastors. It was introduced to recognize their community service and help with their livelihood.

These two welfare schemes were often claimed by YSRCP as their own. They even accused Chandrababu’s previous government of ignoring them.

The truth is, from June 2024 till now, the current alliance government didn’t really focus on Pastors’ Honorarium. Last year, during the April-June fishing ban season, fishermen were supposed to get financial support. But the new government hadn’t yet taken charge, so there was silence. YSRCP used that opportunity to criticize the alliance, claiming they failed to support fishermen, while YSRCP had always cared.

They did the same with the pastors’ scheme too. YSRCP gave Rs. 5,000 per month as honorarium during their rule. But after the alliance came to power, their focus was mostly on increasing pensions, and this issue was left aside — again giving YSRCP a chance to politicize.

Now, Chandrababu flipped the game with a surprise decision. Without giving YSRCP or Jagan any room to react, he released Rs. 30 crore on Thursday night to clear the pending honorarium for pastors. Not just that — under the “Matsyakara Bharosa” (Fishermen’s Assurance) scheme promised during elections, Chandrababu is all set to give Rs. 20,000 each to fishermen on April 26. ( Earlier Jagan government used to give Rs. 10,000).

With this smart move, the alliance government silenced critics and took away YSRCP’s chance to attack.
