In a shocking incident, the granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister and current Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was shot dead by her husband during a domestic argument. The victim, 32-year-old Sushma Devi, had been married to Ramesh for 14 years and had children with him. The couple had ongoing issues in their relationship, and on Wednesday afternoon around 12 PM, Ramesh visited Sushma’s home in Tetua village, Gaya district. During a heated argument, he lost his temper and shot her with a country-made gun. Sushma died on the spot due to the severe injuries.

Sushma was living with her children and her sister, Poonam Kumari, who was present at the time of the incident. After hearing the gunshot, the children were terrified. Poonam immediately filed a complaint with the police. Following this, a case was registered and an investigation is underway. The Gaya police have formed a special team to track down Ramesh, who fled the scene after the shooting. SSP Anand Kumar confirmed the search is ongoing. Poonam has demanded the death penalty for Ramesh, stating that he deserves the strictest punishment for killing her sister.

Sushma worked as a village development worker (Vikas Mitra), while Ramesh was a truck driver. Reports suggest that Poonam had come over to mediate the disputes between the couple. Jitan Ram Manjhi, who is currently serving as the Union Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), has not yet commented on the incident.
