The MLC election in Andhra Pradesh has taken a substantial jump with the leading parties announcing their candidates one by one. First, it was Janasena who announced Naga Babu as its candidate and his nomination was filed in the presence of Lokesh.
Now, it is the turn of Telugu Desam to announce its candidates and they’re fairly straightforward with the same as they’ve followed social engineering to a good capacity.
Kavali Greeshma, Beeda Ravichandran and BT Naidu are confirmed as the TDP MLC candidates. While the former most is an SC candidate, the other two are BC candidates.
The TDP had to allocate one seat each for JSP and BJP in this term’s MLC election. While JSP already announced Naga Babu as the candidate and he will in turn be sent to the cabinet as a minister, it is BJP who has to confirm its candidate now.
TDP had many seniors who were hopeful of the MLC posts this term, but had to pacify due to the social engineering that had to be factored in.
The party high command reportedly called Pithapuram’s SVSN Varma, former minster Jawahar, Duvvarapu Ramarao, and TG Janaradhan. A positive effort was made to pacify the prevailing disgruntlement in the TDP senior camp.
The MLC elections in 2027 will allow TDP+ alliance to have 7 MLC seats and the party promises to satisfy the senior core group in this election.
