A significant incident took place during the Andhra Pradesh Assembly session on Wednesday, with Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu making notable comments. In a surprising statement, Ayyanna announced that he was forgiving Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He mentioned that despite Jagan making allegations against him regarding his position as Speaker, he was still offering forgiveness.

Ayyanna stated that Jagan had made accusations of ill intentions towards him in his role as Speaker. However, despite this, Ayyanna clarified that as the Speaker, he was forgiving Jagan. He also advised Jagan to change his attitude moving forward. Ayyanna further remarked that if Jagan continued his old behavior, the Assembly would decide what actions to take against him.

At the beginning of the session, Ayyanna brought up the Jagan issue and issued a special ruling. He mentioned that in the recent elections, the YSRCP had won less than 10% of the seats. Despite this, Jagan demanded that he be given the status of the Leader of the Opposition, and even wrote a letter to threaten Ayyanna in his capacity as Speaker. Ayyanna pointed out that the letter contained several false statements, and writing such a letter to the Speaker with false information was a clear violation of Assembly rights. He also reminded the Assembly that Jagan had approached the High Court on this matter.

Ayyanna accused the YSRCP of spreading the claim that the High Court had issued notices to the Speaker based on Jagan’s petition. However, Ayyanna clarified that there was no truth to this and that he had not received any notices from the High Court. He accused Jagan of making false statements and undermining the decorum of the Assembly.

In light of all these events, Ayyanna stated that as Speaker, he had the authority to take strict action against Jagan for violating the rights of the Assembly. However, he chose to view these actions as attempts at negotiation and forgave Jagan. Ayyanna warned that if Jagan did not change his stance, the Assembly would deliberate on what actions to take against him.
