Tamannaah Bhatia has interacted with us exclusively, on the occasion of the release of her new film Odela 2. The movie is hitting the screens on 17th April and this is her fourth film with director Sampath Nandi. Speaking with us, she opened up about the tag, Milky Beauty, that the fans gave her, and shared the learnings she had from the film.
When asked about her view on being addressed as Milky Beauty Tamannaah, she said, “The fans started the Milky Beauty tag and the media picked it up from them. But that does not define the choices I make. I feel that we are in visual medium and we should look aesthetic. Storytelling can be achieved in many mediums. I am a part of different films, irrespective of what kind of film it is. I am also a part of commercial films which did well.” She explained that the glamour tag never limited from choosing the films.
Speaking about the film Odela 2, she said, “Odela is a place where Sampath garu grew up. He said that he experienced the Shiva Sakthi. When he is writing a script, he visualizes that he wants a certain kind of girl as the protagonist. It is nice of the director to design a character like this. I love the fact that he thought of me for this character.”
Sharing her equation with Sampath Nandi, Tamannaah said, “We never met off the set. But we see each other creatively. We don’t have long conversations, but we see each other for what we are. It is kind of a mental connection. He is somebody who is good at writing and screenplays. I learned a lot about screenplays from him.”
Before concluding, she had a piece of advice to the young women starting out to make acting a career. “When I started, there was little information. Today’s generation doesn’t have any logistical issues. For an artist, there is too much emphasis on being talented and hard working. What’s really important is perspective, which develops over time.
