In the world of big-ticket cinema, release dates have almost become as dramatic as the films themselves. Announcing a date, postponing it, and throwing other release schedules into confusion has become routine in Telugu. The latest buzz is around Vishwambhara, which is rumored to be targeting a July 24 release. However, the lack of an official confirmation from the makers is leaving fans puzzled. At the same time, Ravi Teja’s Mass Jathara is eyeing July 18 for release.
If both films go ahead with these dates, it would mean just a one-week gap between the releases of the Waltair Veerayya duo at the box office. What makes this clash even more intriguing is that both films were originally meant to arrive much earlier.
Mass Jathara was initially planned for Sankranthi, but was delayed due to Ravi Teja’s accident last year. Now, with a massive budget from Sithara Entertainments and a debut directorial effort by writer Bhanu Bhogavarapu, it’s back on track.
Vishwambhara, on the other hand, also missed its Sankranthi window. While it was said to be a strategic delay to avoid clashing with Game Changer, insiders hint at heavy pending work, especially after the teaser received mixed reactions. To avoid any further missteps, the team is now focused on refining the VFX and tightening post-production.
Until official confirmations arrive, it’s hard to say whether this Chiranjeevi–Ravi Teja clash will actually happen. But if it does, the close gap between the two releases could split the audience and impact openings.
Interestingly, Chiru and Ravi Teja share a good rapport off-screen, so fans are curious to see how this potential face-off plays out at the ticket counters.
