Vijay Deverakonda has been waiting for a solid success for some time now. His last film Kingdom did not impress fans or audiences. It has been a while since he scored a big hit, and naturally, all eyes are on his upcoming projects.
One of the most talked-about films is with director Rahul Sankrityan. The two earlier worked together on Taxiwaala in 2018, which was a success. Rahul later directed Shyam Singha Roy with Nani, which brought him good name. After spending more than three years preparing his next story, Rahul is now teaming up with Vijay again for a film tentatively called #VD14.
The movie officially started shooting today in Hyderabad. It is produced by Mythri Movie Makers on a big scale. The story is set during the British rule in India, between 1854 and 1878. Vijay will be seen in a rural character from Rayalaseema, something he has never done before in his career. The makers say it will be a mix of strong emotions and action.
Rashmika Mandanna has been finalized as the heroine. This will be her third film with Vijay after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. The technical crew also adds weight to the project. International cinematographer Éric Gautier, who worked on The Motorcycle Diaries and Into the Wild, will handle the camera. Popular music directors Ajay-Atul, known for Sairat and Agneepath, are composing the music. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, who played the antagonist in The Mummy, is part of the cast in an important role.
The first schedule will take place in Hyderabad, and later the team will shoot in the Rayalaseema region. For Vijay, this film is very crucial as fans are waiting for him to bounce back with a strong performance. For Rahul Sankrityan, it is a chance to prove himself again with a larger-than-life story.
With a powerful cast, international crew, and a unique period backdrop, #VD14 is one of the most awaited Telugu films in the coming months.
