Underrated Legend Pujara Retires From Indian Cricket! – FilmShlim

Cricket is the most famous sport in India, and several cricket players enjoy superstar status in the country. However, there is one particular underrated player who had a legendary contributions to the Indian cricket team, and he is Cheyeshwar Pujara.

Pujara made his debut for India back in 2010 when he played the opening test match against Australia and he had been a constant feature in the test team ever so frequently.  

At a day and age where players are running after fast pace, cricket and T20 influence has fully taken over the young cricketing scene, Pujara held his own and his widely regarded for his grinding playing style. He is one of the finest test batsmen that India had ever produced.

But considering that the game had moved on and the audience were also expecting fast paced batting from all players, Pujara could never really attain the superstar status despite his efforts. But nevertheless, he was a part of many memorable wins for India in the test format. 

Pujara has played 103 Tests scoring 7,195 runs with 206 not out being his highest score. He has scored 19 centuries along with 35 half-centuries. In first class cricket, he has played 278 matches scoring 21,301 runs with 352 being his highest.

When India needed one solid batsman to hold one and keep the game going, it was Pujara who put his hand up and today he stands as one of the finest test players for India. 

And today, nearly 15 years after his debut for India, Pujara has communicated that he is retiring from all formats for India. He might continue to play the English county matches, but he will not be a part of the Indian test team henceforth. We now bid goodbye to one of the underrated legends of the game.
