The hype around Globetrotter is getting bigger each day. The makers have officially announced that the film’s first reveal will take place on November 15 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Sources say it’s being planned as one of the grandest events ever held for an Indian film.
Globetrotter is directed by SS Rajamouli and features Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. The team has been unveiling the characters one after another. On Friday, they revealed Prithviraj’s look as Kumbha, a physically challenged yet fierce and powerful villain. The next reveal, featuring Priyanka Chopra, is expected soon.
The film has been in production for over ten months and is said to be made on a record budget between ₹900 and ₹1,000 crore. For a long time, it was believed that senior producer KL Narayana was the only producer of the project. Rajamouli is said to be fulfilling a long-pending promise to Narayana by collaborating with him on this film. Narayana, known for producing Rakhi (2006), is returning to production after nearly two decades.
The latest update confirms that Rajamouli’s son, SS Karthikeya, has officially joined the project as co-producer. Karthikeya earlier worked as associate and second unit director for the Baahubali series and played a key role in the Oscar campaign for RRR.
Under his production banner ‘Showing Business’, he has announced multiple projects including Made in India, a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, and two films with Fahadh Faasil titled Oxygen and Don’t Trouble the Trouble. He also distributed films like Premalu and Devara.
Now, KL Narayana and SS Karthikeya will jointly produce Globetrotter under ‘Sri Durga Arts’ and ‘Showing Business’. While details about their financial involvement are not revealed, the combination brings together the experience of a senior producer and the fresh perspective of a new-age priducer.
