Diwali at the Tollywood box-office witnessed mixed results this year, unlike the previous year where there were unanimous hits. With the festival coming to an end, the advantage has gone for all the films, resulting in the crucial surivavl test at the cinemas.
We have four releases: Telusu Kada, Mitramandali, Dude, and K-Ramp. Among them, K-Ramp and Dude performed better at the box office, while Telusu Kada managed only average numbers. However, Mitramandali received negative reviews right from its premieres. There was no hope for the film from the release day itself, and it is now completely out of the race.
Meanwhile, Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Telusu Kada got just decent numbers because of mixed talk. The content that the film speaks got a good attention but critics felt that the problem is with the execution. However, a set of audiences still admired the film.
Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude is the only dubbing film at the theatres this time. The film has got a strong hold in many urban centers. But surprisingly, it is competing with K-Ramp in B and C centers. K-Ramp is the last film to hit the screens this festive season but it passed with flying colours without many complaints.
Now that, the crucial week day test begins, we have to see if these films will reach the breakeven mark and remain memorable hits at the box office.
