The usage and distribution of drugs in any form is a punishable offense. Of late, the youngsters are getting addicted to drugs, and no matter how much the government tries to implement strict rules, the issue is not coming down.

Especially when celebrities are found using drugs, it is causing more damage to the society. In this context, Tollywood is planning to place a ban on artists and technicians who are found to be consuming drugs.

Speaking at the International Day against Drug Abuse event held today by the government in Hyderabad, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju shared his decision. He referred to the rule that the Malayalam film industry is also implementing.

“Already, Malayalam cinema is placing a ban on the artists who consume drugs. Similarly, as TFDC chairman, from Tollywood, I also want to put forward a rule like that. I will discuss it with the film industry and we should send a message against drug usage,” revealed Dil Raju.

Ram Charan and Vijay Deverakonda also participated in the event along with Telangana CM Revanth Reddy. Earlier, several Tollywood personalities were tested and interrogated by the officials with regards to drug consumption but almost everyone got a clean chit.
