The Telugu film industry is witnessing a downfall at the box office right now. With the failure of back-to-back movies and no proper availability of entertaining films at the ticket windows, the audiences are losing interest in coming to theatres. Amidst this, some re-releases are trying to compensate but of late, the re-release trend is also not helping in any manner.

Interestingly, the fans of Chiranjeevi celebrated the actor’s birthday recently, with the release of Stalin 4k. However, the film did not attract the right set of audiences, and it also went unnoticed. There is many reasons as to why the film failed and it is not the right film to be celebrated as a re-release.

Nagarjuna’s fans also made the same mistake by re-releasing Ragada for Nag’s birthday. Ragada is considered a failure at the box office. There was no universal acceptance for this film, and only a few people liked it in theatres. A limited section of audiences can never help a film to reach success, especially during the re-release phase.

Even the initial trend works, the re-releases are ending up as duds at the box office. Until and unless the film was accepted widely during its first release or a film’s experience that the current generation audiences missed, those films will become hits. The rest of all movies will be limited to home screenings.

With the theatrical business suffering losses, the re-releases are contributing more instead of compensating. Hence, the fans also should think twice before approaching for re-releases.
