The Telugu film industry is in deep mourning after the tragic Air India Flight AI‑171 crash near Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London Gatwick, crashed minutes after takeoff, claiming over 240 lives and leaving the entire nation in shock.

In a mark of respect, Tollywood has hit pause on its celebrations. The much-awaited Kannappa trailer launch event, scheduled for tomorrow in Indore for the national media, has been cancelled and postponed. Similarly, the Kubera trailer launch and pre-release event, set to take place in Hyderabad, have also been deferred. The teams behind both films swiftly announced these decisions, standing in solidarity with the victims’ families and echoing the nation’s grief.

My heart breaks for the lives lost in today’s Ahmedabad Air India crash. In deep mourning, we’re deferring the #Kanappa trailer release by one day and canceling tomorrow’s Indore pre‑release event. My prayers are with the families during this unimaginably difficult time. 💔— Vishnu Manchu (@iVishnuManchu) June 12, 2025

The pre-release event of Kuberaa, scheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed in light of the tragic Ahmedabad flight crash. We stand in solidarity with the grieving families 🙏— Kuberaa Movie (@KuberaaTheMovie) June 12, 2025

Leading Telugu stars have come forward to express their condolences. Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Chiranjeevi took to social media, offering heartfelt tributes and prayers for the bereaved families. Their messages have struck a chord, with fans and industry colleagues joining in to share their support during this difficult time.

As rescue efforts and investigations continue in Ahmedabad, Tollywood’s gesture underscores the industry’s empathy and unity in times of national tragedy. The postponement of high-profile events sends a clear message: some moments call for silence and solidarity, rising above the usual glitz and glamour. The Telugu film fraternity stands with the nation, mourning the irreplaceable loss and hoping for strength to the affected families.
