Re-releases have turned into a wild auction lately, with producers diving in headfirst intending to make quick money. Some are striking gold, while others aren’t even recovering their basic publicity expenses. The most recent example of a re-release failure is Hanuman Junction. Even after witnessing the reality, Tollywood is ready with a string of re-releases this month.

Although new films Tammudu, and Hari Hara Veera Mallu will entertain the audiences, there are a bunch of old films re-entering the theatres

First on the list is Husharu, hitting the screens on July 4th. Though it’s not too old film, it’s clearly targeting the youth. Just a couple of days later, the biopic MS Dhoni hits screens on July 7, marking the cricketer’s birthday.

Kumari 21F is re-releasing on July 10, but with Raj Tarun’s current market dipping and no solid fanbase to lean on, it’s entering the game hoping for support from the general audience.

Ravi Teja’s Mirapakai follows on July 11. Though it’s packed with Harish Shankar’s mass style and Thaman’s hit music, it’s unclear if this is the right time for a re-release.

The most surprising entry on the list is Suriya’s Ghajini, a cult blockbuster, which is re-releasing on July 18.

The very next day, on July 19, Ye Maaya Chesave returns to theatres, but with no chance of fresh promotions from Naga Chaitanya or Samantha, the re-release might struggle for traction.

Adding to the clutter is another Suriya’s film Veedokkade, also slated for July 19.
