Tollywood has always welcomed fresh talent by providing a launchpad for new startlets to make a successful career. Besides encouraging talented homegrown artists, Telugu film industry has always been accommodative for heroines from other languages. While many top tier Bollywood actresses are looking towards Tollywood to expand their career graph, happening influencers from North India are also aiming to make a splash here with their talent and glamour.

Of late, some of the popular Instagram influencers who secured immense popularity on social media with their viral content started gaining opportunities in notable upcoming Telugu films. It is no aggregation to say that Tollywood is turning out to be ground for these influencers to foray into films and test their luck on the big screen. 

The first influencer to start this trend is Imanvi, who is the leading lady opposite Prabhas in his upcoming war drama Fauji. Imanvi is a popular content creator which millions of followers in Instagram and YouTube. Her videos were a big hit on social media platforms. She featured in numerous dancing videos and shot to fame among netizens. This has led to her acting opportunity in Fauji under the direction of Hanu Raghavapudi. 

Another North Indian influencer who stepped into Tollywood in a similar manner is Aishwarya Sharma who made her on-screen debut with youthful entertainer Drinker Sai. She grabbed the eyeballs with her bubbly screen presence and chirpy acting in this film despite film’s failure. She secured the opportunity after her glamorous videos and content gained traction on social media. 

The next internet sensation who set sights on gaining fame and popularity through Tollywood is Yashshree Rao. She is going to play the romantic interest of Baby fame actor Viraj in his upcoming film. Yashshree Rao also hogged the limelight after her content raked in millions of views on social media. Particularly, her video featuring catchy histrionics with ‘Animal’ song in the backdrop turned out to be a huge rage on Instagram and Twitter ( now X). 

In the coming days, more such content creators might dream of a bright career in Tollywood due to its encouraging ambience and ocean of opportunities.

Earlier, filmmakers used to conduct auditions to select heroines for their movies. But, the trend has now changed. Social media is providing an ample opportunity to showcase talent in the form of content. If one video clicks and goes viral, there is every chance for these creators to gain attention of directors and actors and thereby getting opportunities on the silver screen.
