The budgets of star hero films in the Telugu film industry have increased significantly over the past few years, and the makers are trying to come up with innovative sequences to present a unique experience to the audiences. Even producers aren’t backing spending huge amounts of money to support directors’ vision. As a result, we have been able to see many expensive and stunning action sequences in the past.
One of the most challenging action scenes is water action sequences. If pulled off well, these scenes would remain highlights of the film. Until now, we have seen underwater sequences and water fights in films like Devara and RRR. Now, we may see such scenes in the upcoming biggies as well. Here is a look at them:
Vishwambhara:
Directed by Vassishta of Bimbisara fame, Vishwambhara features Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role. According to reports, there will be a muddy water fight in this film, and we hear that it will be one of the major highlights as well. Reportedly Vishwambhara is eyeing a release in July or August.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu:
According to the sources, there will be a sensational boat fight sequence in this movie, starring Power Star Pawan Kalyan. Set in the 17th century, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyoti Krishna. AM Ratnam is bankrolling the project.
SSMB 29:
We hear that there will be a massive water action sequence in this highly anticipated project of maverick director SS Rajamouli and Superstar Mahesh Babu. Reportedly, Rajamouli recently shot this sequence with Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, Prithviraj Sukumaran and over 3000 junior artists in a specially erected set in Hyderabad. SSMB 29 may hit the screens in 2027.
Devara 2:
Just like its predecessor, Devara 2, starring Jr NTR, will also have some crazy water action sequences. We hear that director Koratala Siva will picturise these sequences on a bigger scale than the first part. The shoot of Devara 2 may begin once NTR finishes shooting his ongoing film with Prashanth Neel.
Mirai:
After delivering a blockbuster with Hanuman, young hero Teja Sajja is coming up with yet another superhero flick titled Mirai. Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, this movie features Ritika Nayak as the female lead. Reportedly, there will be a huge water action sequence in the movie, which was shot on a lavish scale. Mirai is slated for worldwide release on August 1 this year.
