Mass Jathara, starring Ravi Teja and Sreeleela in the lead roles with Rajendra Prasad in a key part, is set to release on October 31, with paid premieres. Ahead of its release, the team hosted a grand pre-release event on Tuesday, where actor Suriya attended as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, “I’m here as a fan today,” Suriya said. “If Karthi and Jyotika were here, they would’ve shared even more memories with Ravi Teja.” He added that whenever he mentioned Ravi Teja’s name at home, it would always bring laughter and joy.
“As a fan, I can say one thing, if explosive energy had a human form, it would be Ravi Teja garu,” Suriya said. “He’s the best at bringing the common man to the big screen and showing him in king size. Comedy is the toughest art form, and he’s been doing it for decades.”
The actor went on to thank Ravi Teja for Vikramarkudu, saying the film’s Tamil remake Siruthai became a major turning point in his brother Karthi’s career. “As Karthi’s brother, I’m grateful to Ravi Teja garu for his art,” he added.
Suriya also noted that Ravi Teja’s films are popular in Tamil Nadu, even without dubbing or subtitles, and praised his energy and unique presence. “Very few actors have that. After Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, it’s Ravi Teja,” he said. “He reminds us that dreams do come true.”
Suriya is currently shooting in Hyderabad for his upcoming film directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi. Mass Jathara is directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, with music by Bheems Ceciroleo, and produced by Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments.
