The inaugural Telangana Gaddar Film Awards ceremony took place last night at Hitex, Hyderabad, in a star-studded event attended by prominent political leaders and members of the film fraternity. The awards honored films and technicians from the 2024 censored films, as well as the best feature films from 2014 to 2023, marking a decade since the formation of Telangana state.

Today, producer and FDC chairman Dil Raju held a press meet to express his gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success. He acknowledged the hard work over the past six months that went into organizing the awards and thanked the film industry members who attended and received their honors. Dil Raju also extended special thanks to Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, Cinematography Minister Komatireddy, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He noted that although the Chief Minister was allotted only one hour as per protocol, he graciously stayed for nearly two and a half hours, showing his strong support for the event.

During the press meet, Dil Raju made a clear request to the film industry, emphasizing the importance of attending government-sponsored award functions. He said that when awards come from the government, regardless of the state, recipients should make it a point to be present and accept them personally. He mentioned that Andhra Pradesh would soon start its own awards and urged everyone to mark such events in their calendars and participate, even if they are busy with shoots. This was an indirect reminder to some leading stars like Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan, whose films were selected but who did not attend the ceremony.

Dil Raju’s comments highlight the importance of cooperation between the film industry and the government in recognizing and celebrating cinematic achievements. He thanked FDC MD Harish and everyone who contributed to the event’s success and expressed hope that the industry would understand and embrace this shared responsibility moving forward.

With Telangana setting an example through the Gaddar Film Awards, This initiative marks a step toward strengthening the relationship between cinema and government, encouraging artists and technicians to actively participate in such celebrations. As the film community looks ahead, the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards have laid the foundation for honoring excellence with pride and commitment. The coming months will reveal how this partnership evolves and what new opportunities it might bring for the industry.
