Director Shankar faced a big debacle in his career in the form of Game Changer. The criticism that the movie faced is truly unfortunate. The director also lost his credibility and the film’s producer Dil Raju also, in a way, blamed Shankar for the disaster. Months after Game Changer’s release, Shankar made a public appearance recently to speak about his next film Velpari, which he calls it a ‘Dream Project.’
Attending an event related to the novel, Velpari, for selling one lakh copies, director Shankar opened up on the film he is bringing to light, based on the adaptation of the same. Shankar revealed that the film will truly be a gamechanger in his career as he plans to bring a global appeal to it, in terms of how he uses the technology.
Shankar promised that the film could become a big venture as every aspect of the film will be grand. The costumes, art, the production values, and the graphics will reportedly be of global standards, just like Game of Thrones or Avatar.
Superstar Rajinikanth, who also attended the event, complimented Shankar’s vision and wished him the best of luck. Shankar also revealed that Enthiran (Robo in Telugu) was once his dream project, and he successfully made it a blockbuster. Now, his dream project is Velpari, for which the pre-production work is underway.
Shankar’s Velpari is based on Su Venkatesan’s historic novel named Veera Yuga Nayagan Vel Pari. The story revolves around the legendary ruler Vel Paari and the opposition he faced from the three mighty Tamil dynasties—Chera, Chola, and Pandya.
