The year end theatrical hungama begins in September every year. With Vinayaka Chaturthi and Dusshera around the corner, the two months September and October will have decent releases until Diwali.
On September 5th, we have Anushka’s Ghaati and the dubbing film Madharaasi scheduled for a release. While Ghaati was postponed a couple of times, the team is strong about this release date. Interestingly, AR Murugadoss eyes a comeback with Siva Karthikeyan’s Madharaasi. Surprisingly, the small film backed by ETV Win, Little Hearts was also advanced to September 5th. The three films generate a great interest at the box office.
On September 12th, we already have Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ Kishkindhapuri as well as Dulquer Salmaan’s Kaantha. Both the films are unique in nature. While Kishkindhapuri is a horror film, Kaantha is a period drama set around the film industry. Both the films are in promotional phase already.
Teja Sajja’s Mirai which is facing post production delays is expected to hit the screens either on September 12th or September 19th, depending on the pan-India theatrical availability.
On the other hand, Ravi Teja’s Mass Jathara which is expected to hit the screens this month end is also facing post production delays. As a result, the film might move to September end. A release in October might also be on cards.
On the whole, September look solid and packed with enough hungama at the ticket windows. It is upto the audiences now to embrace them either in a big way or outrightly reject them.
