Mohanlal is branded as ‘The Complete Actor’ in the Malayalam film industry. With decades of experience in acting, he remains a top star in the movie industry. However, his son Pranav Mohanlal failed to find commercial success. Now, Mohanlal’s daughter Vismaya is set to mark her acting debut. Titled Thudakkam, the film will be directed by Jude Anthony Joseph of 2018 fame.
Pranav Mohanlal made his debut with the film Aadhi back in 2018, but the film failed to meet the expectations. So far, Pranav has acted in more than half a dozen movies, but except for Hridayam, none of them worked. Even the success of Hridayam has been given to director Vineeth Sreenivasan and the leading ladies of the film.
There is a sharp criticism of Mohanlal that he is not taking proper measures to elevate his son as a big star in Kerala. On the flip side, Mammootty’s son Dulquer Salmaan carved a path for himself without his father’s intervention, which Mohanlal also wants to happen in his son’s case. But the fans are worried that Mohanlal has no say in his son’s career.
In such a scenario, Mohanlal’s daughter is debuting now. Mohanlal and Pranav have shared posts on social media, extending their best wishes to the aspiring actress, but we are unsure of how the fans will receive her.
Director Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani was received well in Kerala. Similarly, Malavika Mohanan, daughter of cinematographer KU Mohanan, was welcomed well. Even Keerthy Suresh is a big star. So, we will have to see if Vismaya Mohanlal carves a path for herself or remain a one film wonder.
Interestingly, Vismaya picked a critically acclaimed filmmaker like Jude Anthony for her first film which is a clever move. As a director, he made five movies out of which his last film 2018 was received well across the nation. Jude Anthony has been working on a script for quite sometime and he seems to be well prepared to weigh the expectations of launching someone coming from a film family.
Titled Thudakkum, Anthony Perambuvur is producing the film under the Aashirvad Cinemas.
