Producer Namit Malhotra, who is making a new film based on the epic Ramayana, shared that his biggest inspiration is Rajamouli’s RRR. When people first heard about this Ramayana project, many assumed it might end up like Adipurush. But the recently released glimpse changed that impression. The visuals made it clear that this film is being made on a much grander and more serious scale.
Namit revealed that the film is being made with top international technicians and a massive budget of ₹4,000 crore across two parts. This huge investment surprised many, and people began wondering how such a big budget would work and what kind of film could justify it.
In response, Namit explained that he is confident because of how RRR changed global perceptions of Indian cinema. While films like Slumdog Millionaire, Gandhi showed Indian stories to the world, he believes RRR introduced a new perspective. He said RRR made Hollywood recognize the strength and grandeur of Indian storytelling, and that was the real success of Rajamouli.
Namit also said that earlier, the world often viewed Indians as poor or helpless. But that image is outdated. He believes India is powerful and that Ramayana is the root of global evolution, calling it one of the world’s greatest mythological stories. His dream is for not just Indians, but film lovers across the globe to experience Ramayana as an epic, which is why he’s making it on such a grand scale.
