One of the top actresses in Indian cinema, Rashmika Mandanna, addressed the rumours of her being banned from Kannada cinema. She clarified that she wasn’t banned from any industry and added that what people think about her is far from the actual truth.

While speaking in an interview with a Kannada media house during the promotions of her new film, Thamma, Rashmika was asked about the widespread rumours of her being banned from Kannada cinema after her breakup with actor Rakshit Shetty a few years ago.

Responding to the same, Rashmika said that the world doesn’t know what is happening inside, and one can’t put a camera in their personal life. She said that only god knows the actual truth, and there is more to the story which is often seen in the media.

“So far, I have not been banned.. So, yeah…,” she went on to add. Stating that celebrities shouldn’t live according to the people’s perception, Rashmika stated, “One cannot live as per people’s assumptions.

Rashmika made her acting debut with the 2016 film Kirrik Party, which featured Rakshit Shetty in the lead role and was directed by Rishab Shetty of Kantara fame. She was engaged to Rakshit in 2017, but they mutually broke up in 2018. Her last Kannada film was the 2021 release, Pogaru. Since then, though it was not officially announced anywhere, people started assuming that she was banned from the Kannada film industry.

On the career front, Rashmika will be next seen in Thamma, which will hit the screens on October 21. On the other side, it was reported that she was engaged to Vijay Deverakonda a few days ago but the news hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
