Over the years, Indian cinema has witnessed several tales on the epic Ramayana. The last prestigious project on the celluloid is Adipurush, starring Prabhas. Now, director Nitesh Tiwari is crafting a two-part film on the same. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, the film unit introduced the world and announced the release dates today.
The team kept the looks of the lead actors under wraps without going too much deeper into it. While Ranbir plays Lord Sriram and Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash will be seen as Ravana. At the end of the glimpse that they released, we could see the side shot of Ranbir and the half-revealed face of Yash.
Apart from that, the glimpse tries to tell how Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva had to face struggles when a demon arrived. It is when Lord Ram entered the picture to begin a battle for Dharma. The story is definitely not new to the audiences, but how they will present it to the latest generation audiences will make the difference.
Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are scoring the music for the film with a prestigious VFX studio onboarding the film. The movie is entirely filmed for the IMAX experience. Sunny Doel will be seen as Lord Hanuman while Ravi Dubey will play Lakshmana.
Written by Shridhar Raghavan, the production is led by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios.
Ramayana will be released in two parts. Part One is scheduled for Diwali 2026, followed by Part Two in Diwali 2027.
