Prabhas’ much-awaited film Raja Saab was initially scheduled for release on April 10, 2025. The announcement had fans thrilled, but as time passed, the movie’s release kept getting pushed back. After multiple postponements, the film is now expected to hit theaters during the Sankranti festival on January 9, 2026. While many assumed that production delays or Prabhas’ busy schedule were to blame, the real reason seems to lie elsewhere.

According to producer Vishwa Prasad, the delay wasn’t due to shooting issues at all but stemmed from major problems in the visual effects (VFX) department. The producer revealed that a senior VFX supervisor, who had been assigned to the project, failed to deliver even a single VFX shot for months despite being on the payroll. Reportedly, the technician was simultaneously engaged with other big projects like Pushpa 2, causing further delay in Raja Saab’s post-production timeline.

Vishwa Prasad also mentioned that the same technician became difficult to work with, even threatening to quit when pressured for results. To avoid further setbacks, the team decided to remove him from the project altogether. Interestingly, filmmaker Rajamouli too is said to have recently parted ways with the same technician, which points to a pattern of professional differences.

After parting ways with the original VFX supervisor, Vishwa Prasad set up a dedicated in-house VFX team for his production company. This new team worked on both Mirai and Raja Saab. The impressive response to Mirai’s visual effects has boosted confidence that Raja Saab will deliver an equally stunning experience when it finally releases.

Fans are hopeful that the wait will be worth it and that Raja Saab will mark another grand chapter in Prabhas’ blockbuster journey.
