Prior to the release of Thug Life, we reported that Kamal Haasan’s over-the-top statements are surprising his fans. Now, post the film’s release, everyone agrees to it, and additionally, it is his statements during the promotions that created unnecessary expectations, finally resulting in utter disappointment. With this, the fans are also of the opinion that Indian 3 is no different.

Cut to the past, when Indian 2 was in the promotional phase, Kamal Haasan gave more hype to Indian 3, stating that it will actually be the game changer to the franchise. Instead of Indian 2, Kamal spoke at length about Indian 3 everywhere he went. Post the release, many assumed that Kamal intentionally did that to bring down the expectations meter, since he knew that the movie had nothing to woo the audiences. Even then, whatever he spoke about Indian 2 is in contrast to how the audience received the film.

Cut to the recent past, Kamal went on to proudly announce that his recent film Thug Life will be bigger than Nayakan. Nayakan is still considered a cult classic in Indian cinema, in the combination of Kamal and Mani Ratnam, which was released 38 years ago. Kamal stated that Thug Life will be another revelation of Mani Ratnam, who has changed his directorial style and is at his best. But, post the release, everyone started wondering as to how Kamal made such statements as the film is nowhere near Nayakan in any aspect.

Coming ahead is Indian 3 alone, from director Shankar. The film was already ready. From time to time, speculations go on that the film will skip theatrical release for a direct digital release. Had Thug Life succeeded at theatres, there could have been a chance for Indian 3’s release. Currently, the fans does not want to see Kamal undergoing another humiliation with Indian 3.

Comparing to what Kamal spoke about Indian 2 and Thug Life, they genuinely think that Indian 3 is no different in terms of output and it is all Kamal Haasan’s marketing gimmicks to attract the people to theatres.

Well, the time has to give a conclusion over the same.
